Policy

Moore Computer Services is a small, family-run repair shop. We ask for as little information as we need in order to help you, and we do not sell it to anyone.

What this website collects

If you fill in the contact form we store the name, email address and message you send, so that we can reply and keep a record of the enquiry. If you subscribe to the blog we store your email address for that purpose alone. Nothing else on this site asks you for personal information, and we do not run advertising or sell data to third parties.

We keep basic, anonymous statistics about which pages are visited, so we know which parts of the site are useful. That information is not tied to you personally.

Your data on a device you bring us

Repairing a computer often means we can see the files on it. We treat everything on your device as private. We do not copy, read or share your files beyond what the repair itself requires, such as backing up your data before an operating system install and restoring it afterwards.

Any backup we take while working on your machine is kept only as long as it takes to finish the job and confirm you have your data back, and is then removed. If you ask us to wipe a drive before you sell or donate it, we wipe it properly so that the data cannot be recovered.

Payments

We do not store card numbers. In-person payments are handled on the card terminal or through the payment service you choose, and online payments are handled by the payment provider on their own systems.

Remote assistance

Remote sessions are started by you and run only while you are at the computer. We cannot connect to your machine unless you give us the session code, and the access ends when the session is closed.

Getting your information removed

If you would like us to delete an enquiry, unsubscribe you from the blog, or tell you what we hold, email info@moorecomputer.com or call (704) 591-6420 and we will take care of it.
